OUR STORY

We are a close family with four beautiful children and a passion for sustainable living and Ecotourism. We live near the coast and we love this part of the world, for its beautiful sites of special interest and wonderful quiet beaches, not to mention the ancient woodlands everywhere. We believe Norfolk stays this way because it's slow and sleepy.

Our eco glamping story began as we wanted to share this part of the world and help you see how to live in better harmony with nature and reduce your consumption to improve the health of our beautiful world.

I'm passionate about cooking, our planet, living plastic free, reducing carbon footprint, good nutrition, permaculture and herbal medicines. I am a fully qualified dietitian, have practiced with various herbal medicines and am a qualified foraging teacher. My husband is an ecologist and bat expert and we run our own businesses, look after our children and try our best to look after our world as well.

We love it here so much we wanted to share. If you decide to see our Wild Norfolk, we would be more than happy to talk to you about some of the beautiful spots and I could list a hundred here but it might not be what you want. Please let us know what you are looking for and we will do our best to ensure you have that experience.

I would be happy to take you on a foraging tour or show you how to pick foods and make basic remedies and natural products from the plants around you. I can help you see how to encourage nature to thrive in your area if that's what you want. Equally I know where all the seals hang out or can show you walks and cycle routes, lend you my kayaks and help you have a fabulous experience.

Here every day I either go to the woods, forage or to the beach. I grew up in an inner city with a herbal grandmother and have spent a big part of my adult life travelling the world. And here is where I want to stay and I can show/tell you why.

We love living in North Norfolk because of its natural beauty, at first I was frustrated by the slow pace here but then I realised, this is how Norfolk and our world stays beautiful. In a sense you could say that Norfolk taught me the beauty of patience.

I am really hoping that from your stay here at our Knapton site or Cranworth Site, you come away with something which, if applied back home would help spread the support that nature and our natural world needs to survive with people.

If you want me to, I will tell you the best walks and the kinds of creatures you will see there and why.

The beaches are sensational and no it is not the Caribbean but it is quiet and it is our home.

I can help you find the best beach for you. Some have seals (please stay 150 meters away so not to exhaust the poor things, nature needs its peace too), some have ganets and beautiful birds, some are quiet, some are busy.

We are happy to help with the best places to eat, let me know what your taste is and I will point you in the right direction. Don't have any fear of driving 10 miles here to go out, the roads are quiet so it takes no time at all. But there's a lot of deer, hedgehogs, badgers, birds etc so please take care and drive slowly.

If you like birds and wildlife, here in our garden you will see, gold finches, Jays, swift (nest close by), dunnocks, green finches, chaffinches, robins, black birds, wood pigeons, long tail tits and much more. We have lots of butterflies including swallowtail butterflies, orang tips, peacocks, red admirals and more. On an evening you will hear deer, owls, hedgehogs, foxes and more.

OUR NORFOLK CAMPSITES

We have two camp sites in Norfolk and three different types of luxury tents. All tents have a choice of beds to suit your requirements, log burners, kitchens whether alfresco under cover or in the tent, each eco pod has its own bathroom and firepit. All feel unique and every single one has secluded luxury.

Our first site is at Knapton in North Norfolk, 1 mile from the Blug Flag beach of Mundesley is a single bell tent, lavished with beds, carpet, log burner, outdoor kitchen diner with fresh and dried herbs, four ring gas burner, giant cool box with fresh ice pack daily, porcelain sink with hot and cold running water. As well as your own private bathroom complete with flushing toilet and hot water shower.

This site is on the land of our 320 year old house but very enclosed and private and you are free to come and go as you please. Equally we are not far should you need our help with anything.

Our Second site is at Cranworth, deep within the heart of rural Norfolk. Cranworth has five glamping pods, all similar to Knapton in terms that each has its own, tent, kitchen diner and private bathroom. The difference being the tents. We have: -

  • 2 safari tents which each have two bedrooms a kitchen and lounge with log burner beds and a porch out the front to sit and watch the world go by.

  • 2 lotus tents these are like hobbit houses but for big people, each with a green roof kitchen diner and private bathroom round the back of the tent

  • 1 central bell tent again with the same sort of layout, again with beds, carpet, books, log burners, solar power and lighting.

All tents have solar power and lighting and there is an honesty shop at the Cranworth site. With some special items which you can buy to keep the children occupied.

Bike and Kayak rental, flushing toilet and hot shower, private fire pit for BBQ’s, all have porch and relaxing chairs.

As this site is deep in rural Norfolk you may well see deer, badgers, hedgehogs, owls, newts and other wildlife visitors at the camp, it's truly enchanting.

Perfect accommodation, the bell tent and surrounding amenities, kitchen and bathroom, considering they were out doors are very well planned out. Where can I begin.? As we first walked through the gate we all said "wow" 😍 it's such a perfect space. All the facilities were spot on & very well thoughtout, I loved the privacy of our own gated (lockable) space when we could hang out. Location was great for visiting lots of places & local Intel was really useful. My only complaint is that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back to "normal camping" after this amazing experience 😉 We definitely hope to come back again

If you're looking for an eco friendly, quirky and exceptionally clean place to stay then this is the place for you. The booking process and communication with the host was super speedy. Cherece is really friendly and her welcome email was full of useful information. The accomodation was exactly what we were looking for - rustic glamping with really great amenities. We loved our time here!!!

I was looking to get away from London for a weekend but didn't want to travel too far, but still wanted to be close to a beach and this was the perfect spot for me and my two friends! We absolutely loved it here and could not believe how much thought and attention to detail had gone in to creating this unique space. This place has everything you could possibly need for a luxury 'glamping' weekend away, the beach is close by and there are beautiful woods to explore in the area too! Cherece, the host was always there to answer any questions before and during our stay - I'd recommend the foraging tour if you want learn something new about nature. The tent is huge yet extremely cosy, the outdoor space is also a great size and there are lots of seating areas - perfect for a group of people wishing to stay here. The bathroom is very clean and the shower is hot! I really loved the attention to detail in the kitchen that Cherece had put in. We can't thank her enough for all the help we were given and I would definitely recommend this place to other groups of friends, couples or families! You will not be disappointed! Thanks again Cherece :) x

Thank you for a wonderful stay. The idea is an environmentally friendly idea is great and we had a really good time. Cherece is a very friendly and thoughtful host and her knowledge of the area is outstanding. She provided us with lots of top tips on restaurants and beaches. Her knowledge of the ecology of the plants in the local area was really interesting. The tent was very spacious and cosy! The fire was perfect in keeping us nice and warm. I also thought all the amenities in the kitchen area were fantastic and the nice touches of bread and jam were very thoughtful. I highly recommend Cherece and Hollys Haberdashery.

This place is a real find and I would highly recommend if you're looking for a escape. The bell tent is very cosy and comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom are all well equipped and with some great touches. Even better at night when you have the fire on and all the fairy lights come on. Great location and easy access to the local area by car. Would recommend a visit to Waxham Beach for a quiet beach with seals nearby in the water. Mundesley is also nice and has good ice cream as well as a great butchers and fresh fruit and veg shop where we got supplies for the weekend. Coastal walk from Cromer to Overstrand is incredible and a definite must.
